Last spring the big trend was a "pop of color." This year is not so coy. Match your bright-colored accessories to your equally-vibrant-hued outfit. Key colors include neons and highly saturated pastels, especially green, orange, yellow, and hot pink. The best shades for spring are feminine colors like the pink and "orange crush" shown above.
Large floral prints are also popular, bigger and brighter than last year's flowers. Scarves are never going away, so come to terms with it and stock up on several in fuschia, salmon, jade green, and ferocious flower motifs.

Instead of just a sky-high heel, gain height with a stacked shoe. A slight platform helps you tower comfortably, and is a fave of celebs like Victoria Beckham. A classy, sexy shoe is perfect to balance out super-casual spring trends of shredded and boyfriend jeans.
Goddess SandalsWhen precipitation stops, the shoe for Spring '09 is a thick t-strap sandal. Gladiator sandals return with a slight revamp. Flat sandals are popular, as well as those adorned with large gems and exotic embellishments.
For shoes, the biggest trends are metals/metallics, florals, and bold jeweltones.
Whether it's oversized cocktail rings or huge, gaudy necklaces, dainty is out. Express your personality with giant signature pieces. Again, it's not about a "pop" anymore, so experiment by mixing a bold hunk of jewelry with a bold outfit.
Popular pieces include big and chunky cuffs and bangle bracelets, although the large statement necklace is by far the biggest trend. Popular necklace styles on S/S 2009 runways include geometric shapes, gemstones, and ethnic-inspired designs. In general, exotic and tribal prints are very current. (Tribal tattoos are still to be avoided, however, unless you are actually in a tribe.)
