Non-shocker of the day: The Hills is fake.

Okay, so we know that Lauren admitted the MTV “reality” show is staged and they do multiple takes for some scenes. We know that the unholy union of Spiedi was never really off considering that at the same time their “we were on a break” phase aired, Heidi was rolling around the beach with Spencer taping it on his home camcorder. But Audrina being cast for the show as Lauren’s BFF? It’s quite probable that LC’s current victim of co-dependency isn’t much of an actress but she plays one on TV.

Then there are the other random “coincidences” – Brody always being around and switching sides, Stephanie Pratt being in Lauren’s class (YEAH RIGHT), and Lauren chilling with Heidi’s sis, Holly Montag?

Was Whitney cast too?!

To these girls, clearly fashion is just a fallback career and their grand ambition is celebrity. Since this show is about as real as all that blonde hair color, we also figure the wardrobe was provided all along. And let’s face it, there are some cute clothes flashing through the show.

Further proof that a stylist is responsible for the overall look of The Hills? The heinous designs of Lauren and Heidi. They didn’t wear anything this flame retardant on the show. Like, ew.

Team Heidi. This is not an illusion. Seriously. And the zebra top is the highlight of the lackluster line.

Even though everyone sort of knew The Hills was not for real, it was still addictive. Then LC ‘fessed up, and though it was annoying, it still drew viewers. Now with more of the picture being revealed and the stories getting more convoluted, are you still going to watch when Season 4 premieres on August 18?
