t.A.T.u. for Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall

Russian pop sensation duo t.A.T.u. has been summoned by Marc Jacobs to be the new faces of Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2008/Winter 2009 fashion ad campaign. Do you remember these girls? They had the hit song, “Not Gonna Get Us,” back in 2002, which propagated their band’s lesbian image, but the girls – Moscow natives Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova – contest that they are not really lesbians at all. Either way, their 2002 hit song was hot -- and so will be the upcoming 2008/2009 Marc Jacobs ads, I’m sure!
As you can see by the above photo taken from their Wikipedia page and the new one taken as proof of their modeling for Marc Jacobs’ line, the girls have undergone quite a makeover. Although I personally favored Yulia (right) with darker red hair, I think that letting her natural locks' shade shine through fits Marc Jacobs’ clean, simplistic fashions perfectly. Yulia’s orange-red stained lips and sultry lids are reminding me of NARS’ Fall 2008 makeup collection. So is Lena’s makeup, and I love her bronzed skin and nude lips. Lena’s hair looks amazing, but I’m pretty sure she still wears a cropped cut and is wearing a fall ponytail in the new photo.

Haha nice article but you got their names the wrong way around. It is Yulia who has the dark hair, and Lena with the red hair :P
I read an article in Jane magazine (back when it was cool) about the lovely ladies of t.a.t.u. It was awesome. It taught me how to do bisexual makeup. How to apply my rouge for that "is she, or isn't she mystique".
I always though the lesbian thing was a gimmick, but I'm glad they're still around. I have a soft spot of those who might become one-hit wonders.
Hmm I liked them better as lesbians, but I always found Lena to be super hot. I had no idea they were still around, but I can't wait to see some full ads with them.
