Richard Chai for Target

Target announced their twelfth GO International designer: Richard Chai. The Korean-American designer has done everything from helping launch Marc by Marc Jacobs to interning for Oscar de la Renta and Dior.

Target seems to be outdoing themselves once again for their GO International campaign because they managed to strike a deal with modern minimalist extraordinaire, Richard Chai.

He has quite an impressive resume, winning the Ecco Donami Fashion Foundation award for his own line in 2004. His work is characterized by muted vintage tones and a "futuristic-romantic" aesthetic.  He has also cited the '80s as being a prominent inspiration to his clothing.

(The first look is from Chai's Fall 2008 line at New York Fashion week and the above look is one from his much more affordable Target line).

In the latest issue of Lucky magazine you can catch a glimpse of Target's ads promoting the line. Also, the latest issue of NYLON has a full-on article about the line. The collection will make its Target debut on August 3rd.  The collection will consist of pretty floral dresses, knit sweaters, and playful tops.
