The black lip gloss trend this fall seems to have really left a lasting impression on the fashion and beauty world by helping to bring the gothic and rocker look back into the limelight.
If you're only interested in rocking this trend for its due time or just need a bona fide groupie get up for a concert or show, here are some fashion forward ideas on how to rock 'n roll without permanent ink or holes.
If you're not quite ready to go under the needle, a temporary one that will give you approximately a week's worth of wear (depending on care
and placement) may just be your solution. Temporary tattoos aren't just for kids anymore, with a wide variety of styles, from butterflies and roses to tribal back pieces and skulls. Most simply require you to press down, rub and lift off the paper backing, although some will require a little water to get them to fully transfer. Check out the Temporary Tattoo Factory for temporary tattoos ranging from mild to wild.
Temporary piercings are usually one of two designs -- either a magnetic stud that can be used on ears, nostrils and (carefully) in the labret (just below the lips) or Marilyn/Medusa (above the lips) areas, or a horseshoe shaped "ring" that can slip over a lip, nostril, septum, navel or even eyebrows. They also come in different colors and sizes so you can customize your body bling to your personal style. Check out Fake Body Jewelry for tons of non committal body piercing options.
Try temporary colored hairsprays for all-over color or colored gels and hair mascaras for tips and streaks of crayon-like color that are gone before you go back to the office on Monday. But, super light blondes beware! Reds and pinks can leave a slight stain on your fair tresses.
Extreme lengths are another tress trend, with locks either being super short and spiked or long and straight. Wigs and extensions are a fabulous way to switch up your look without being a slave to the shears or suffering the growing out phase.
he '80s, you weren't really a rocker if you weren't sporting one of two fabrics -- usually both.Leather and denim are fashion must-haves, and the more the better. Ripped up jeans and leather biker jackets may be a little too hardcore for some, so try a pair of well-fitting blue jeans with black lace trim or insets for the same edgy feel. Of course, the mini skirt re-invented itself in the rockin' '80s, so leather or denim of scandalous lengths are always winners. Lacy tops, leather or suede fringe, baby doll tees with rock inspired graphics or band tees are a sure-fire way to flaunt your fashion savvy, as are boots (stilettos and knee/thigh highs are best) and lots of jewelry -- think silver bangles, hoop earrings, rings on every (or almost every) finger and multiple necklaces and pendants, layered on chains of varying lengths. If you really want to go all the way, ripped jeans and as much skin as you're comfortable baring (assuming everything is well-fitting) and a little off-the-shoulder action certainly wouldn't hurt.
However, if you’re still sporting the black lip gloss look from Fall, skip this and go with a nude
eye. Makeup savvy mavens preach the importance of playing up one feature at a time, and with such a drastic look for either eyes or lips, this is especially important now.
Look like you're with the band this winter without giving up your 9-5 with just a few fun and funky accessories, a couple well thought out wardrobe additions and a healthy dose of rock star attitude. The lifestyle is optional.

I'm with Bat on the temporary tattoo concept. I personally would never get a real one because I know I'd get tired of it eventually and then wish I hadn't done it. But a fake one sounds like a fun idea. I guess at my age (38) I don't really care anymore if I seem like a poser =)
Different folks, different strokes. =) Consider someone with severe allergies, who has heart problems, is diabetic...my Dad for example is on blood thinning meds, and even though he's wanted a tat since he sat with me through my first one, it's just not possible for him. =( I buy him the fakes ones from time to time and he gets the biggest kick out them. I think its cooler than all get out -- heck, I wear them from time to time myself, either to see how I'd feel about looking at something every day on a particular part of my anatomy or just for the irony of it! And, I am tattooed from head to toe (in various areas) bringing my count to 16. I don't see any shame in it, personally -- fashion is about having fun, and frankly, if you're really comfortable wearing some of the fashion and beauty trends out there, why would you (in the proverbial sense, please) even care what anyone thinks of you or labels you...? There's always going to be someone to do it, despite best efforts, so if someone's going to lump you into a category either way, why not have fun with it...?
And, health issues aside, there are job requirements that a lot of people have to think about (which, in this economy, if you have one that pays worth a crap, hang on to it!) as well as religious implications for a lot of folks. I'm sure I could go on and on, but that's just my two cents worth. =)
And leave Chucky Cheese out of this! lol Ball pits rock! ;)
(Although, that giant mouse is a little creepy...)
if you want to be badass, why not really go for it? And, as a side note, temporary tattoos are meant to be prizes as Chuckie Cheeses.
At first I didn't like this post. As someone with real tattoos and piercings, it seems so unfair that people can cop the sexy look without the effort or commitment. I still think magnetic piercings are *totally* stupid - even a real piercing is only permanent if you leave the jewelry in. I just took my lip ring out and there's a tiny dot under my lip, no big deal.
Fake tattoos... OK, I kinda like it, and wouldn't mind rocking some like jewelry, although you do run the risk of being called a poser, which you can't really argue with.
