If it's part of your heritage I think it's a great costume idea! It's only a bad idea if you are not of that heritage - as liz said it would seem disrespectful or like you are making fun. But i think it's cool that you are celebrating your background. I recently saw a photo of a celeb (i forget who), who did this costume idea and her makeup was actually very simple, almost natural and not much color so that all the focus was on the costume. If your costume is really great maybe think about softening up the makeup so it's not overdone.

Nothing wrong with it from your perspective as a person of Native American heritage. I just wouldn't do it myself since I'd feel like I was being disrepectful. Maybe visit the website of the particular tribe you're from and see if they have pics you could work from. Have fun!

What's wrong about it? I'm of Native American decent, and I've made a beautiful costume. I don't see the problem with being proud of my heritage? I was just looking for ideas or tips to finish off my costume. Constructive ideas and comments would be appreciated....
