I'm a girl who prefers the Au Natural look. The most I've ever done was eye shadow and lipstick for myself. But on special occasions I've had people do the whole shebang on me. Anywho, lately I've been considering giving more than the basic shadow a try. Any suggestions on how I should start. (Mind, I don't want to look made-up everyday.)

oh and mrswhite is so right. E.L.F productsare great. You can get anything and everything there. From products, to brushes/tools, to cute carrying cases. E.L.F. is carried at Target, but for the best selection I'd go to www.elf.com
I would just use a few things. The whole point of make-up is to make it look like your not wearing any. Just highlight some features. I'd use mascara, a cream blush (that works best for all day) on the apple of your cheeks, and a pink lipgloss. Simple, but it goes along way. If you have more time, you can add eyeshadow, a little highlighting shimmer, and maybe eyeliner.
Start with small things that make the best impact and are easy to use:
1. Concealer, especially for undereye. Spend some time finding the right formula and color for you.
2. Mascara.
3. Some kind of lightly colored lip gloss. Dab a tiny bit of it on the apple of your cheeks for a little sheen and color as well.
That's it for now! No need to go all out or be overwhelmed. Once you like the way it makes you look, you can try more stuff later.
Video tutorials on Youtube? I'm telling you, I came into the world of make-up too early. I entered back in the days when all one could get was a dial-up modem.... lol.
try looking at the makeup tutorials on youtube.com. There are a lot of very talented ladies that take makeup applications step by step and tell you what products they used so you can buy them too
Huh, thanks. That seems simple enough, I'm kind of make-up retarded lol.
I was once you Shybrown, but I didn't have cool blogs like this to post questions and read reviews. I used to belong to a message board where I would gleam tips and ask "stupid" questions. Then I would buy and borrow books. I recommend Carmindy's "The Five Minute Face" and any beauty book geared towards teens. (They usually require less make up so their looks will be more natural. Bobbi Brown has a book for teen girls.)
Department store cosmetic counters are scary, so I recommend skipping those for now. Go to Sephora. They do free make overs, and give out great samples. Have them make you over, and ask the artist to write down the tips s/he used. Some department store make up artists will do that as well. Go with a more experienced friend.
Finally, just load up on some E.L.F. (because they're a $1 a pop) make-up and play around in the mirror. If you don't like the looks or the shades, you won't feel like you wasted money. I practiced with Wet'n'Wild.
