How can I get paid for my 2-cents?

Before becoming a librarian, I used to be a journalist. (For ten years!) Mostly I did fact checking and a teeny bit of copy editing. With the economy the way it is, I'd like to earn some extra money by writing reviews or something similar. I spill my guts on everything from movies to make-up on my blog, but I'm tired of giving away everything for free. How do I combine my career skills into a small side hustle? (I'm not even trying to get rich. I'm only talking about an extra 1-3 hundred a month.)

Hmmm, well my sister has wonderful taste and I've been telling her for the longest she should be a personal stylist. The way I figured she would go about it was to help a couple of her friends out for free and then have them recommend her to people they know. That way she'd already have a fan base/clientele and still be able to charge people for her services. I'm thinking you could do something similar. But you could put your own twist on it.
