In fashion, January marks the launch of the resort collections:  swimsuits, cover-ups, and linen pants designed for all the tropical vacays the terribly stylish are about to take.

In beauty, January kicks off skincare season. It's about the time of year we all start noticing just how many pints of moisture the arid indoor heat and merciless outdoor wind are really draining from our complexions.

Accordingly, most brands celebrate by launching juicy new products aimed to perfect and pamper our skin pretty.  My favorite so far: Smashbox's new Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder & Brush.
