Feeling Red in the Face?

Once upon a time, my fair complexion was looked upon as adorable. Sadly, that was a long time ago. These days, I spend the months from November through February looking more like Rudolph’s stunt double. I’ve decided that the time has come not to spend another winter with a cherry-colored nose.

Neutralize

I’ve been dealing with rosacea for what seems like an eternity, and very few products are able to neutralize my often blotchy (and predictably Irish) skin. It’s just the worst when I’m all decked out, and no matter what I do, my nose and cheeks become redder every time the temperature drops. With continued use, the Prescriptives Redness Relief Gel goes a long to defuse the scarlet hue in my face. I love it, because it’s lightweight and not messy like many of the other creams I tried out.

Alleviate

Work the night shift with the Nocturnal Lifting Mask from Sampar. A high dose of active elements calms irritated skin, and I found myself waking up with ultra moisturized skin. Blotchy patches were significantly reduced, and a small dollop goes a long way. Bonus, the mask smells absolutely heavenly.

Soothe

The Tea Tree Toner Tabs from Lush are new products that fizz like crazy to relieve rosacea. It just felt like I was doing something healthy for my skin, and I felt refreshed. This was a quick fix for alleviating splotchy skin, and although the tabs simmer out pretty quickly, you can make them last a bit longer. I ended up dipping my wash cloth directly into the water and using the concoction as a toner. Another thought, save the remaining dissolved essential oils in the fridge. Spritz it over the face during the next few weeks to pacify aggravated skin.

This is my first time to this site, and I love this article. I too suffer from that dreaded R word -- rosaeca. It's awful... my nose is always bright bright red. Thanks for the tips -- I will definitely try them out!!! And hi to the Sparkle community, do any of you have rosacea? I am always looking for tips!!!
