Face Creams: The Cream of the Crop

Do your face a favor and step up to a more emollient face cream before your skin becomes red, chapped or scaly.

Skin that is sensitive year-round really needs extra attention during fall and winter so be sure you are using products that address your specific needs.

Also remember that exfoliation, chemical or with a scrub, is vital to remove the dead cells that pile up on your skin 365 days a year.  If you don’t have that good friend ‘Cell Turnover’ in your life, buddy up to ‘Cell Turnover.’  You can choose a cute ringtone for Cell and you two can stay in touch on Facebook.  Personally, I’m in touch with Cell daily.  Even when I travel or, God forbid am under the weather, Cell is there, getting rid of dead skin that is waiting to clog my pores or try to make me look old and haggard.  Thing is, I am stumped about what to get Cell for the holidays.  Cell has it all!  Perhaps I should consult the Sparkleshelf.com Holiday Gift Guide

Now, on to talk about face creams:

You don’t even have to whip out your cell phone to get results from Clinique Comfort on Call face cream.  If your skin is tormented by wind, constant in and out of cold and dry heat situations or if you have skin allergies that need a little TLC, this is the cream for you.

I love the cool packaging of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Vintage Edition 1950’s.  This ‘50s cult favorite is an all in one wonder cream; it can be used for dry skin, to gloss up your lips or even as a cuticle cream.  Oh how I swoon for a mulit-tasker.

Avene Redness Relief Soothing Cream, formulated with Avene thermal spring water, helps address redness and blotchiness.  With SPF 25, this light green cream minimizes existing redness and reduces flushing, while protection you from harmful sun rays.

I like Clinique. Another to try? Dermalogica.

I use its "Active Moist" in the summer because it's lightweight. In winter, I switch to "Intensive Moisture Balance", which Dermalogica describes as being an "ultra-rich blend of phytonutrients, vitamins and humectants" that "restores vital moisture."
In addition, in the winter, I sometimes use "Barrier Repair", a silicone-based moisturizer that melts into my skin.
