What Would You Rather Do: Die, Or Go Out With No Makeup?

Not that I'm fielding requests these days, but half the reason I can't be a celebrity is because I'm terrified of being seen in public sans makeup.

So when I read this, I completely felt Pammy Anderson's pain:

"Pam Anderson was evacuated from a five-star hotel in Paris following a suspected gas leak at 5 a.m., but the Baywatch sex symbol was reportedly more concerned about not having her make-up on."

In fact, Pam wasn't just embarrassed, she refused:

"The alarm called for the entire hotel to be evacuated, but Pam wasn't dressed, and therefore begged firemen to smuggle her through the kitchen. But the firemen would have none of it, and insisted she leave through the front entrance, where The Daily Mirror reports about 200 screaming fans were waiting for a glimpse of the buxom blonde bombshell."

I would have drawn the line at giving firemen trouble in the line of duty, but it's no surprise I'm prissy about being seen without makeup. Remember that time I wouldn't go hang with my friends because they caught me without my face done?  I did that then, and I'd do it again.

I'm not alone here, right?  If you were Pam Anderson, what would you have done?

I think she looks better without makeup. She looks natural. Natural, in my opinion, is beautiful; as in, it's not fake. I don't see how anyone could be deemed "attractive" or "sexy" if they're not even real. Makeup has been spreading its anti-natural message for so long that many people now think that women can only be beautiful with chemicals and powders. It's depressing, really. We women would not be judged to this standard if we stood up for ourselves and said, "Hey, I look fine without makeup. I don't need it. I can go outside, be myself, have fun and look great without relying on unnatural means." The point of life is to have fun and live it as much as you can before it's over. Why waste time trying to gain others' approval?

I like authenticity. At one point, in my teenage years, my mother asked me when I was going to try makeup and why I wasn't wearing it. She really wanted me to wear it. I absolutely refused, though. It is against my personal beliefs and wishes. Even though I looked tried every morning in high school I still had many male (and even female) admirers. The only part I didn't like was how I'd have dark circles and pale skin, but as the day went on I gradually looked more awake. (Also, I tended to enjoy sleeping in as much as possible. Applying that crap is a waste of time. If guys can simply brush their teeth and throw on some clothes, why can't we?)

Anyway, Pam actually looks naturally attractive without makeup. Sure, she looks tired, but everyone does in the morning. ;p

ohh yah when i said haggard i didnt mean like, ugly, i just meant not the pam we're used to seeing. its two completely diff people... ive seen worse pics of her than this. ps; celebs who look great without makeup? eva mendes, liv tyler. but kelly ripa and even longoria look way different without it... weird.

Seriously, how ugly ARE you (in general, not anyone specifically) if you can't leave the house without makeup? It's like that Proactiv ad where she says she could finally let her husband see her without makeup - her freaking husband! Now, I like to be done up before I leave the house, but makeup should complement your existing features, not turn you into a completely different person. Definitely some self-esteem issues if your cosmetics are *that* important.

I'd rather be ugly and alive than dead and pretty. :-/ Pam really is a pretty woman even without her make up. She looks better without all the make up on.

I wouldn't mind being caught without makeup. But then, I'm a natural beauty. Howev, I totally understand Pam's pain: take away the bleach, the boobs, the botox, and her eyeliner, and she's totally haggard. She's one of those celebs that looks completely diff without makeup, and her entire career is based on her looks, so I can see why this could be shattering.
