Top Olive Oil Beauty Tips

Olive oil is chock-full of omega fatty acids (those good fats) which makes it an awesome nutritional supplement. But did you know it could do wonders for your hair and skin as well? Not only does olive oil do wonders for your inner and outer body, it is also majorly cost-effective compared to what you would spend on commercial beauty items to get the job done. For best results, use extra virgin olive oil for your beauty concoctions if it should be mixed with anything else. Read on for some great olive oil beauty tips I’ve picked up over time (and feel free to contribute your own in the comments section)….

Olive Oil for Your Lips

Do you have dry, chafed lips? Dab on a drop of olive oil and press lips together to cure your dry spell.

Olive Oil as a Moisturizer

If you have dry skin, apply a few drops of extra virgin olive oil to your face and massage, focusing on rough areas.

Olive Oil as a Makeup Remover

Did you make an eyeliner boo-boo? Dip a cotton swab lightly into a cap filled with a bit of olive oil and use it to lift away any makeup smudges.

Olive Oil for your Hair

If you have thinning or brittle hair, warm ¼ - ¾ cup of olive oil (depending on the length of your hair) in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. Dab a bit of warmed olive oil to the inside of your wrist to ensure it’s not too hot. Apply the oil from root to tips of your hair and wrap in a warm towel for 30 minutes to soften and thicken your hair. This is also a great treatment for dry scalp.

Olive Oil for Soft Feet

Massage olive oil onto your feet at night, focusing on dry soles. Cover with cotton socks before hitting the sheets to wake up to soft and moisturized feet.

Olive oil teamed up with organic sea salt and a splash of your favorite essential oil makes an excellent all over body exfoliation mix (not for face)
