Old Ingredients Go New -- What They Are, What They Do

Skin care these days seems to be nothing more than a cocktail of chemicals, which aside from being impossible to pronounce are also impossible to determine whether or not they're really good for you and what they’re really doing for your skin.

The popularity of ‘Going Green’ and the return of organic products in the mainstream have left more and more consumers wanting natural skin care, filled with products they can pronounce (and in a lot of cases, eat) in place of chemical names that translate to little more than gibberish to most.

Aside from being able to spit out the name of the ingredients in my skin care without sounding like a small child learning to read or like I’m fluent in Klingon or some other alien language, I like to know that all that Earthy goodness is, in fact, doing something wonderful for my skin. If you’re a fan of organic or natural skin care products, or just want something you can pronounce, here’s a list of some of the trendiest skin care ingredients and why you want them in your skin care lotions and potions.
