Which is the best mascara? There is no real answer to that question as everyone has an individual lash preference. Maybe you crave more length, or ridiculous volume – or you want both and nothing less! Or perhaps you just want more defined lashes with a natural look.
No matter what your lash desire, there is a mascara for you. Read on for five of the best-rated mascaras on the market today.
CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara ($9)
Lash Blast gives both a lengthening and volumizing look to the lashes with amazing results. The rubber wand may have something to do with the effect. It is one of the most unique drugstore mascaras and has been a winner across the board since it debuted in 2007. Even when taking your time to apply, this mascara does not clump. It washes off with a few swipes of your face wash or makeup remover.
Best for: Girls that want longer, thicker lashes for the best price
Lancôme Hypnose Mascara ($24)
Hypnose is a volumizing mascara that makes lashes look full and plush. It beats Lancôme Definicils mascara because it can hold a curl better after curling your eyelashes. Hypnose has a hourglass-shaped wand but with a tapered end. With this mascara you can build layer upon layer with virtually no clumping for outstanding volume!
Best for: Girls that crave volume and don’t mind spending the extra cash
L’Oreal Bare Naturale Mascara ($10)
Bare Naturale mascara by L’Oreal gives a naturally defined eyelash look with no clumping! Most of the ingredients are natural, causing little to no irritation to sensitive eyes or contact lens wearers. After a couple pumps of the eyelash curler, this mascara is just enough to make you look more bright-eyed first thing in the morning.
Best for: Girls that wish for a natural eye look or no-fuss application/removal; low-maintenance “lip gloss and mascara” days
Christian Dior Diorshow Mascara ($24)
Diorshow is the only mascara on this list that I have not personally tried, but I cannot leave it out based on all the reviews I’ve read and heard about this stuff! Diorshow mascara is said to make lashes look full and plush, giving a total “false lash” eye look.
Best for: Girls that want the “Playboy bunny” lash effect without the fuss of false eyelashes
Maybelline Lash Discovery Mascara ($7)
Lash Discovery is one of the few mascaras with a wand skinny enough to get at the most hard-to-reach lashes on the outer corners of your eyes. As a result, lashes are longer and more defined, providing an effect much like those on mascara ads.
Best for: Girls that crave defined lashes and leaving no eyelash uncovered

Maybelline-The Colossal Volume Express in Glam Black is my pick as favorite. I've tried the Dior and CG Lash Blast, but the yellow and purple tube has my vote. Try it, you'll like it.
Gotta say, like to see the L'Oreal on the list as well, I carry that in my pro kit and it never fails either my clients or my wallet. Great choices.
I have the Diorshow and the L’Oreal Bare Naturale (among many others not listed). Between the two, though, I actually prefer the L'Oreal. I find that it is less clumping and dries faster and is equally lenghthening as Diorshow.
The Diorshow totally lives up to its hype. i LOVE IT, does everything, plumps, give length, and curls... i have the black color. AMAZING
the WORST? the sephora brand mascara. RUNS all over the place. in two hours you'll have racoon eyes.
Maybelline Lash Discovery is my favorite mascara of all time because of the skinny wand. I never smudge with that wand and I get all of my lashes on top and bottom. It makes my lashes look long and definied. My second favorite, which I've just recently discovered, is Max Factor's Volume Couture (which I previously misidentfied as the 2000 Calorie mascara). It goes on great, last long, doesn't smudge and makes my lashes look super thick.
