Amanda Lepore, quite possibly the world's most famous transgender icon, announced that she is coming out with her own cosmetics line with CAMP cosmetics. Debuting in 2009, the line will be titled Collection Lepore.
If by some miracle, you've lived a Lepore-free existance up until now, here's what you need to know. First off, no one has any idea when she was born. Second, she's a New York girl who has earned her chops in the beauty world, having been the advertising face for Heatherette, M.A.C. (cosmetics), Mego Jeans, Swatch. She's even appeared in films in camero roles and strutted down the catwalk for Heatherette.

President of CAMP, Michael Perich, defends his unusual choice for a brand representative saying, "Why have the world's most famous transsexual representing a line of our cosmetics? Why not? Amanda's beauty goes way past gender. She is one of the most glamorous personalities in the art, fashion and gay worlds. Anyone with as much influence in those worlds is just an obvious choice for us!"
What makes Lepore, as Perich says, such an obvious choice? If it's not already clear by the photos, Lepore is a girl who knows her makeup. In a world where even Pam Anderson has her caught-without-her-penciled-on-brows-days, Lepore is never not done up. Gotta give her credit for that.
So, really: WOULD you buy makeup from this woman?

Yes, at least she knows her make-up a lot more than most women would.
agree with amor. I would totally buy her stuff she is an icon to most int he fashion world and though she has that train wreck/amazing-ness about her she does know her shit she been around a LONG time.
genius idea - seriously. think about it, trannies have the biggest beauty obstacles to overcome. so you know she has more than a few cosmetic tricks to solve beauty problems for the rest of us.
Her boobs make my chest hurt. :/
Whoa dude... plastic surgery to the max. But she obviously knows how to look cheap, so yes... I'll try her makeup.
Pete Burns is way more natural and feminine in comparison! So, my sister said she would buy from her-I on the other hand am not so sure.
The plastic surgery is distracting from the make-up, but I'm sure her products would be great.
The thing about Amanda is that her makeup is classic and glamorous, but her repeated surgeries have made her face distorted and clown-like, much like Pete Burns. Such an odd combination, but certainly intriguing. I can't stop looking at her.
I woulddefiantly! And they are all right Amanda has most defiantly earned her mark in this industry! I would buy from her rather then buying from some movie star or singer who has decided to make a line of cosmetics! Amanda knows her make-up and I have to say that its relieving!
