A Red Lipstick to Match Every Complexion

Shu Uemura RD165 LipstickSome girls swear by their version of the perfect red lipstick. For others, a great red lippie is hard to find. Red lipsticks oftentimes appear too orange, too bright, too pink, too bold, or simply not right for our complexion. For that reason, many girls (myself included) shy away from red lipstick, convinced that they will never find a red hue to flatter their complexion.

Shu Uemura may have created the answer to our dilemma! Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Red Collection is what the line calls a “new range of complexion-flattering red shades.” The star of the collection is the shade RD165, which is a completely neutral true red lipstick.

RD165 is supposed to complement all complexions -- from light to dark -- and its neutrality means that there’s no orange, pink, or blue tint to offset the trueness of this red. RD165 and the rest of the lipsticks from Shu’s Rouge Unlimited Red Collection are vivid shades with high pigment and true color payoff. These lipsticks have a smooth, rich texture which softens the lips. The lipsticks also contain an 8-hour moisture shield with nutrients and minerals for optimal comfort.

Ladies, if you haven’t found your perfect red, try RD165 from Rouge Unlimited Red Collection to see if the Shu fits!

I would love to find a red lipstick that I thought looked good on me...it is supposed to really make teeth look white. In the past I would put on Benefit Benetint, then the red lipstick and it helped when the lipstick started to wear off. I have not worn it in a few years as I have been more into lip products that are closer to the color of my lips. When I put on red it makes me feel like I am screaming 'I have on a lot of makeup' but this article has got me, like Liz s a and KatieRose, curious to give it another try. Thanks Marsadie

I have the hardest time finding any color of lipstick that really works on me. I dunno what it is but every shade seems to make me look really weird. Maybe I'll try this one. I tend to just go with a lightly tinted lip gloss instead.

I have always shunned red lipstick because I feel like it brings out my sallow pallor and seems to highlight any marks or blemishes on my face. But I love this idea of a line of reds designed to flatter all complexions. I may have to check it out!
