I love Urban Decay. I love their shades, I love their vibe, I love their marshmallow-flavored body shimmer (if you ever catch me licking myself, please know that that's probably the reason). But I'll be honest: I haven't actually used any of their products in a long time, mostly because the amount of awesome shades and products becomes way too overwhelming for me and I'm one of the most fickle persons you will ever meet. Give me too many options, and I run out the door crying. But I was recently able to try some of their newest products (choosing the shade was not an option for me, thank God), and here's the haps:
I am not a lip pencil person. The allure of lip liner has always been lost on me. Lipgloss is all I need to get me through my day. But hey, it's Urban Decay, and it's glide-on, and it seems idiot-proof, and I'm a fan of all of the above. So I tried it out, and you best believe me when I tell you I am in love. Supersmooth application, didn't get cakey or flaky like certain other liners I've tried, and I didn't need to coat my lips in chapstick first in order to ease application (pet peeve!). Oh, and here's the money shot: the geniuses at UD somehow managed to make the color of the make-up product and the color of the packing TRUE TO FORM. Ever buy a "berry" lipcolor that's actually garnet? Hates that! UD is hip to that and the shade of pink on my pencil is the actual color I end up putting on my lips. Definitely a make-up bag must-have.
Their brand new line of glide-on pencil concealers made me giddy with excitement, but it only comes in 4 shades and their darkest one, NSA (Medium-Dark) is just a bit too light on my olive skin. Bummer! I still used it though, and I loved the coverage. But I favored it as an eyeshadow base. Even after running around school in 103 degree weather for 11 hours, I was pleasantly surprised to see my shimmery pink shadow still rockin' full force at 7pm. I can't wait to use it on the dance floor to prevent my makeup from running. Obviously, it's not meant to be used as an eyeshadow base, but who doesn't love a multi-tasker? It also contains Vitamin E and Microsponge to absorb excess oil. If they come out with a darker shade, I'll be all over that like white on rice.
Has anyone seen the new design for Urban Decay's lipsticks? And if you have, why haven't you said something sooner? I'm not really one
to gush over packaging, but these lipstick cases are adorned with a mini gunmetal dagger - and really, that's just badass. As far as the actual lipstick goes, well, I can't say for sure how long it lasts, cause uhhh, I've got this bad habit of kissing way too many boys for any lipstick to last all day. It's not a part of their 24/7 line, but it IS delectably creamy, lush in color, and contains Vitamins A, C, and E within its formula. And! It smells sooo yummy (according to their website, it's a creme caramel scent and flavor). Available in 21 different shades, I'm sure there's one for every skintone and mood.... As I blog, I'm on their website right now signing up to buy Gash (Gwen Stefani's signature color in her "Just A Girl" days) and Indecent (a pale peach). Oh yeah, that's another thing I love: the names of their shades. Urban Decay, I think you just became my new favorite makeup brand... again.

UD is by far my favorite cosmetics line. gorgeous colors, great quality, no animal testing, awesome packaging. here's how i make my lips look 10 times more amazing without any plastic surgery;
- big fatty lip plumper. works fast, works well, doesn't sting, lasts a long while. let it work for a minute, then rub in any excess with your finger to moisturize.
- lip ink in greedy. a lipstain that feels comfortable, doesn't turn your lips to sandpaper, lasts a long while, and smells like vanilla. greedy is the perfect jewel-toned, berry red with a bit of purple. let dry for a minute.
- lip pencil in medium berry. don't make one line all the way around (big mistake). lightly make small lines that connect. follow your natural lip line, don't create something that isn't there. on your top lip, do your cupid's bow first and then move outward to the corners. like you said, a lip pencil that goes on smoothly and feels comfy? rock on.
- using their wonder brush, lightly blend the lip pencil inwards. the blending will prevent it from looking harsh and fake.
- that new wonderful lipstick in gravity. again, the perfect color; a warm, velvety berry tone. it's sheer, but chock full of color. stays put, very moisturizing, smells like cotton candy and chocolate.
ta da! lips that look good, feel good, definately smell and taste good, and has staying power. i'm sure the boyfriend will appreciate lippy stuff that doesn't smear all over him and tastes like desert.
yep, sure did. looooves them. hey! the gash liquid liner.. i own it, obvs, because i loves the color... but i don't really know how to wear it?? like what eyeshadow colors or how to make it pop? any ideas???
bren! Did you see the tiny logo stamp on the lipstick itself? That's almost as cool as the packaging.
Urban Decay rocks. I'm wearing Gash liquid liner right now. I love that they make not-shy-about-color makeup.
