I love Mischa Barton. I love her as a style icon, and before that I loved her as Marissa Cooper on The O.C. Still, I am not sure about paying a minimum $80 for a Mischa-designed headband. Her new headband line is her second retail project (the first is a handbag line sold in the U.K. and Australia called Ri2k), and the six headband styles range in price from $80-200. Even before the TV started spouting recession reminders constantly, eighty dollar hair accessories weren't in my budget. Who pays these prices?Mischa Barton's line for Stacey Lapidus (sold online first, then eventually in-store boutiques) is a reflection of her boho-classic fashion sense. Lapidus recruited Barton after seeing the actress rock a headband in a photo, noting Mischa's mix of bohemian and classic style. Miss Barton is known for mixing Chanel pieces with thrifted items and laidback flair.
Six pieces will be released for Mischa's holiday line. Headbands are designed to be worn across the forehead and will be be adorned with beading, gems, sequins and flowers.
I adore the look of headbands across the forehead, hippie-bohemian-style, but I have a feeling I can D.I.Y. my own bejeweled accessories for under 80 bucks. Or just keep it Posh and stick to hip elastic headbands.
P.S. Am I the only one who thinks she looks like an Olsen in that photo (above)?

I also agree....too expensive! I've found a great collection from Andrea's Beau that has fantastic headband styles at quite affordable prices. Unlike Sarah, I think the headband trend is going to be around for a while! It's a fun, versatile look that works with lots of looks. Take a look at www.andreasbeau.com if you want to see some great examples.
I agree, way too expensive. Plus, isn't the headband fad dying out?
I feel a flop coming on!
