Love her or hate her, you've got to admit: Sarah Palin has a great updo. "It's really more of a casual up-do than anything else, with teasing here and there for height or support," said Billy Lowe, celebrity stylist and beauty expert.
Wanna copycat her look at home (or, perhaps, looking for ideas on who to be for Halloween)? Billy shares his how-to-tips.
1. Take a horizontal section across the middle of the head and move a small section forward and out of the way. You'll be using that later to cover up the teasing you'll be doing.
2. Working behind the section you just moved forward, take 1/4-inch sections and tease, pushing the hair to base with a comb. Tease a couple more sections working back toward the crown.
3. Take the first section that you moved out of the way and gently brush it over the teased sections. You don't want to flatten the areas that you teased. This helps conceal the teased sections.
4. Pull back the sides and gather them with the first section and make a loose chignon in the back, or twist up into a bun or clip.
5. Smooth out the bangs. Make them a little piecey.

yeah she's awful. i'm going to be her for halloween! any ideas for a joke?
liz, I'm the same way about SP. I think I'll vomit if I hear "maverick" one more time, and yet, I found myself wondering if I could pull off the french braid half-do she sported during the VP debates.
And...if I'm being perfectly honest here, I wouldn't mind knowing what lip gloss she wears.
Sarah Palin is one of the most annoying people I've ever come across. I really can't stand her politics or her darn-tootin' personality. And yet...I must admit...I LOVE her hair. I like it when it's down or up. It's shiny and healthy-looking and has great volume without being too high. And I love the red/gold highlights. There...I said it. But what's underneath the hair is another story.
This look is pretty awful in my opinion. I guess maybe for Halloween but it reminds me of my middle school look with curled bangs.
LOL I love the blurb about "Halloween".
Well... The only kudos I give her are for making this type of updo professionally acceptable. I feel like I could wear this to a corporate job, now.
