Get Beachy Wet Hair Look - Teen Choice Awards

While watching the Teen Choice Awards last night, I was able to see some of my favorite actors and artists nab their surfboard awards for Best Performances. Of course, I couldn't help but notice the fab hair and makeup done on the celebrity gals (and some of the guys -- Hello, Zac Efron's bronzer! How are you today?). The makeup was glam yet sunny (no sooty smoky eyes, just sunset shades), and the hair was very fitting of the awards theme -- wet, wavy, and flowing, much like wet beach hair. Vanessa Hudgens and Katherine McPhee showed off the wet hair look, to name a couple. How can we replicate this wet hair look on a drugstore budget? With Garnier, it's easy. Fabulously easy. Use Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Wet Shine Gel to achieve a beachy, wet hair look:

How To Get a "Wet Hair" Look »

  1. After washing hair, scrunch-towel-dry your hair until it's just a bit damp--no drips.
  2. Gently detangle any twisted parts of your hair with a wide-tooth comb.
  3. Part your hair where you normally do. For the most "awards-show-worthy" look, make it a straight part.
  4. Squirt a quarter-sized amount of Garnier Fructis Wet Shine Gel into the palm of your hand. Rub hands together then apply to your hair liberally, root-to-tip, scrunching near your roots for body and on the tips for loose waves.
  5. When you're satisfied with Wet Shine Gel's distribution in your hair, finger-comb your hair until it looks the way you want it.
  6. Apply a dab more gel to your roots at your part to tame flyaways and add shine.

That will not work....at all. At least not to get the look those two have... clearly their hair was curled and probably with a flat iron. If you do what they suggested your hair will be hard and crunchy, and probably wont move at all.... it will be curly but you wont get the look that Vanessa has in the pic upove..

I like this idea, but I have curly hair. Does anyone know how I could get this look with the type of texture my hair has?
