Personally, I am all about organic cosmetic products and supplements that will do my skin and body good. Toxins and chemicals in your everyday cosmetics and food, with long-term use, can wreak havoc on your body and mind. I know how I feel after I spend a day eating junk food, or when my skin is dry and parched after using $1 brand cleansers or moisturizers or products loaded with harsh chemicals. Unfortunately, “going green” isn’t the most cost-effective method of taking care of your body, but it’s a small price to pay for long-term health and well-being. Also, your skin will *glow* with thanks.Organic cosmetics generally refer to those that were made without harsh chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers. For these cosmetics to be considered “truly organic” the cleaning and conditioning processes of the products should be performed by organic materials, the manufacturing process ecological, and floral or botanical waters should not be used because they are considered non-agricultural. (Thanks, Wikipedia)
The least we can do for our inner body is trade in our supermarket-bought snack chips and soda for Whole-Foods-style snack chips and sodas. These “whole foods” are salted with sea salt and sweetened with cane sugar, a huge step up from table salt and refined sugar. Our skin and body will thank us with a glowing complexion, heightened energy levels, and improved concentration.
By default, drink lots of filtered water. Also, make some organic staples a part of your everyday grub – flax seeds (perfect for salads and smoothies, great for your skin), coconut oil (tastes good in foods but makes your skin and hair look fantastic), and apple cider vinegar “with the mother” (you can read allll about the benefits of ACV here).
*The minimal preservatives contained in these products only help to preserve their shelf lives.
This yummy organic lip balm makes lips smooth and kissable without being greasy. Because it is organic there are no heavy emollients, so you may find yourself reapplying frequently. If you don't mind that small caveat, Kiss My Face organic balms are cool, smell good, and moisturize your lips without harsh chemicals or greasy emollients.

I want that Dessert Essence stuff! I LOVE that squeaky clean feeling + I love tea tree oil. What a great post!
This is a great post and I read it with interest as I also use only organic/natural personal care products.
There's something I don't understand about Wikipedia's definition of organic cosmetics though: "...and floral or botanical waters should not be used because they are considered non-agricultural."
Does anyone know what wiki might mean by this? I've tried to contact the person who entered the definition, but can't. I'd be really interested to know because both my husband and I assumed that floral/botanical waters were agricultural as they are "of the earth".
Thanks again for the great post.
I would luv 2 try the Desert Essence face wash also. It seems like a very promising product. Cant wait to try it. luv this post.
