This season, the fashion world has seen a plethora of revival trends. From 70’s hippie revival, to 80’s bell bottoms, to 90’s tie-dye and now neon clothing.

Contrary to what you’re probably thinking, neons can be wearable and it’s all about going basic with the rest of your ensemble. Neons go well with whites and blacks and similarly simple accessories. The best worn neons, in my opinion, are simple shirt-dresses and other basic pieces like those found quintessentially at American Apparel. There you can also find solid headbands, leggings, and accessories to complete your look. Fashion and beauty blogger Wendy at Decadent Luxe goes gaga over all things neon (can you tell by her blog?) and has confessed to a closet full of neons and other bright pieces from American Apparel and other stores.

I’ve found that the most wearable, fun neons are in younger, indie-ish stores such as Urban Outfitters and American Apparel, or found online in trend shops such as ShopKitson.com and ShopBop.com. No matter where you buy, be adventurous and go out to find that one neon piece to define your brightest summer look!
