Go for sheer products such as tinted moisturizers, all-in-one tints for lips and cheeks, and mineral makeup. Concealer is the only real coverage you need if you’re pampering your skin by drinking plenty of water during long summer days. Read on for my picks of the best sheer makeup for Summer 2008...
Best Tinted MoisturizerThe consensus of many of my favorite beauty blogs is that Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is the best of the best! It also won an Allure magazine Best of Beauty award so it must be good. This tint moisturizes and tints as it should with SPF 20. It goes on even, lasts all day, and gives a light dewy complexion. You can pick it up at Sephora for $40.

We were already raving about Tarte Cheek Stain. This is the natural version. Tarte Natural Beauty Cheek Stain gives a hint of berry-tinted flush to the cheeks using ingredients such as acai and pomegranate extract (both fab antioxidants). The color stays put all day! This eco-friendly cheek color can also be found at Sephora for $28.
Best Sheer Lip ColorLove, love. Revlon Super Lustrous Shiny Sheers lip color has the best qualities of a lipstick, lip gloss, and lip balm all-in-one. The staying power is like that of a lipstick: stays put for hours. Shiny Sheers moisturizes like a dream. You’d swear it was lip balm. The gloss factor is fabulous and lasts as long as the color does. For $8 these are a drugstore staple!

Clarins Waterproof Eyeliner is the best in my opinion because it. stays. put. Take a dip in the pool and come out with the same perfectly lined eyes as they were when you jumped in! Another pro of this Clarins waterproof eyeliner is that the black shade is the blackest black among many liners that I’ve tested. If you know me you know I love my blackest black eyeliners, and this one doesn’t budge! They retail for $22 at your favorite department store. Sharpen then lightly blunt the tip for best results.
Best Mineral MakeupThe best drugstore mineral makeup product is quite possibly Maybelline Mineral Powder Makeup. It is sheer but actually gives light, suitable coverage. Well done! The kabuki-style application brush is a bit coarse for my taste; use a high quality kabuki brush instead and you’d swear you spent a lot more on this drugstore mineral makeup. $8 is a steal!

I'm glad for the drug store mineral make-up suggestion. I've always been burned by Maybelline foundation, but I might give it try. I wear very little make-up in the summer--eyeliner, lipgloss, and powder. I like a powder to keep me shine free but be light on the skin. Thanks!
Wow i love it all, want it all haha :)
