Sparkle Roundup: Spring Hair Trends

With summer just around the corner, let's see what hairstyles are hot to trot!  We know all you busy gals haven't had time to put those tired Winter looks on the shelf.

What is your hair destiny this Summer?

"Tell your winter hair and makeup to take a hike for a while," says Pam Cutler, owner of Salon Knotty in Wichita, Kansas. "It's spring and time to make a change."

When in doubt, pick up your favorite trashy rag and see what advice our friends in the Golden State have to offer.

If a big change is what you are in need of, there's nothing like lopping it all off, and this Spring you're in luck: short is hot right now! Michelle Williams and Selma Blair are sporting the classic pixie cut right now. Not only does it save you valuable minutes in the morning, but it's confident, fresh and oh so flirty... we love it!

Not willing to part with your long locks?

No problem!  Long is in, too. Robin Wilborn of Wilborn Hair Co. says hairstyles with "long, flowing layers and long bangs are hitting us.  Long feminine layers are a throwback to the '70s, maintaining length, with short layers on top and lots of movement."

Refresh those bangs!

Bangs are everywhere this season, and there's no wrong way to wear them. Be bold with straight across blunt bangs for a super mod sleek look. Or opt for a softer style with layered side-swept bangs.  You can easily turn your bangs into a hot retro look with a high ponytail (flirty & innocent '50s gal), or smooth curled-under bangs (Betty Page pin-up).  Plus, it's a great way to frame your face and bring the focus to those beautiful eyes!

I recently cut my hair to a mid-length, but am completely on the fence whether to grow it out or chop it more (a la the Nicole Richie bob - still lovin' it). Decisions, decisions.
